Dr. Tony Evans is founder and senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, founder and president of The Urban Alternative, former chaplain of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, and present chaplain of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.
Dr. Joel C. Gregory holds the George W. Truett Endowed Chair of Preaching and Evangelism at Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. He is also Director of the Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching at Baylor’s Truett. In 2018 he was named one of the “Twelve Most Effective Preachers in the English Language” by a poll of more than 500 professors of preaching in American seminaries and universities. The same year he was also recognized by the E.K. Bailey International Conference as a “Living Legend.” In 2019 his peers at Baylor University, the oldest university in Texas and the world’s largest Baptist University, named him an Outstanding Professor.
Dr. Dates is a contributing author to Letters To A Birmingham Jail, and Say It: Celebrating Expository Preaching in the African American Tradition. His first single-authored book on Christianity and Social Justice is forthcoming. Dr. Dates serves as an Affiliate Professor at both Baylor University - George W. Truett Theological Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and a Master of Divinity and PhD of Historical Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.
